Does youR body feel as good as it should?

Muscle therapy is not a luxury, but a necessity to overall functuality & a pain-free life.

Strategic Muscle Therapy (SMT) is not only a preventative therapy and a way to manage pain, but also is a management of multiple diseases, such as Cerebral Palsy, Multiple Sclerosis, PTSD, injuries & mental fatigue. SMT is meant to bring awareness to the cause of pain as well as to help us prevent pain & feel our best all day, everyday.

The human body has over 600 muscles! Those muscles not only help us walk, run & play, but muscles also allow us to survive, breathe, pump blood & empty the waste from our body. Therefore, I think it's safe to say... Muscles are a HUGE part of who we are!

Common examples of Why & How…

INJURY

Injuries of all shapes & sizes are not only common, but also often not rehabbed properly. Torn ligaments, sprains, breaks & more can cause compounding damage in the long-term if the ripple effect isn’t curbed.

For example: The bone may heal but compensatory muscle habits may carry on producing additional discomfort.

STRESS

Universally, humans encounter stress. It’s unfortunate as stress is often the cause of a variety of problems including, but not limited to…

  • Headaches

  • Heartburn

  • Rapid Breathing

  • Depression

  • Insomnia

  • High Blood Pressure

  • Low Libido (Sex Drive)

  • Tense Muscles

The result of high stress levels is the activation of the Sympathetic Nervous System (SNS) which is responsible for our "fight or flight" response. Activation of the SNS instructs the the adrenal glands to release the stress hormones, adrenaline + cortisol. When these hormones are in excess, the body reacts counterintuitively, thus infliciting harm.

Needless to say, stress is not good in surplus! Through Muscle Therapy & manipulation, the hormone transmitters called dopamine, serotonin, & oxytocin are released, consequently lowering the increased adrenaline + cortisol levels.

Frozen Shoulder

Frozen Shoulder is a condition where an individual experiences shoulder pain & is unable to lift the arm over the head. Frozen shoulder causes stiffness & restricted range of movement in the shoulder.

The terms Frozen Shoulder & Adhesive Capsulitis (AC) are often used interchangeably, but AC is the acute version. It involves a slow onset of stiffness & pain in one shoulder due to inflammation & tightening of the joint capsule.

PTSD

Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can develop when one experiences something shocking, scary, or dangerous.

Through Muscle Therapy, this condition will see a reduction in high levels of cortisol (the stress hormone). At high levels, cortisol causes cognitive impairment & a lowered immune response.

Muscle Therapy allows the cortisol levels to return to base levels. Thus, the body is able to perform as designed without the excess stress.

Sciatica

Sciatica pain can be caused by the small muscle residing beneath the glute — the Piriformis.

This pain is frequently misdiagnosed — & therefore untreated — due to its location. As our center of gravity falls at our hips & glutes, sciatica pain can happen to anyone & everyone.

Abdominal / INTESTINAL

Muscle Therapy is used in this region of the body to remove gas, blockages, and/or waste. By reducing abdominal fluid, digestion improves.

Beneficial for those who experience chronic constipation and/or those who have digestive ailments.

PRE-NATAL

Muscle Therapy aids in reducing back + joint pain while also reducing edema. Additionally, stress & anxiety are reduced. Promotes improvement of soft tissue + muscle oxygenation.

Beneficial for expecting mothers, recently conceived through full term!

So How do we treat these common problems?
